Belford - Bowmore, Feb 10. - Steamer Belford, of Sunderland, in ballast, wrecked of Ballinaby, north coast of Islay. Position serious. All lives supposed lost. Drifting from Jan 30.

- Bowmore, Feb 11. - Steamer Belford: have visited wreck today. Mile north Ballinaby, stands upright on rocks under cliff, accessible by ladder; salving of hull inpossible owing to position. Deck swept by seas and water in hold. Propellor gone. Crew and boats missing. Advise send surveyor immediately as some salvage may be possible. - Lloyd's Agent per Salvage Association.

- Bridgend (Argyll), Feb 15. - Steamer Belford: Just returned from Ballinaby. Found that vessel had broken up between Feb 12 and 13. No trace of her to be seen. Only engine skylight and a few hatches washed ashore, also two lifeboats. - Salvage Association's Surveyor.
